Cougars kill a lot of sheep but I thought goats lived in too steep of terrain...

The cougars on mt rainier kill most of the goats in the park occasionally they get a hiker here and there as well

If only we could get the cougars to participate in an "unarmed hippie hiker incentive program" (Something like a meals-on-wheels program for elderly or unemployed cats ), perhaps we might eventually get the restrictions lifted on hunting them...

So basically there are only 2 main places for goats. Baker area and the Goat Rocks area. What about bumping and norse peak?

I gave up applying for goat permits several years ago anyway, just because of the decrease in number of permits each year.  Sounds like I'm not missing out on anything.

Ok 3 areas. North chelan, baker, and goat rocks. Don't know what they were thinking, but drawing a goat tag just got ALOT harder.

So 14 permits altogether? With 9,719 people applying last year, that works out to odds of 1 in 694. Which means it takes on average SIX HUNDRED AND NINETY FOUR YEARS to draw a mountain goat permit!   

I think they just might want to increase the cost of applying for mountain goat, at least for non-residents, because I know there are LOTS of NR's who apply for our mountain goat permits.

I just checked...it only takes 152 years to draw a moose tag.

I think goats used to be the easiest OIL tags to draw, now they are the toughest! I think there should be a $20 application fee.
