After reading this whole thread this morning I am sick to my stomach.
I never met the guy or talked with him online but he seemed like an awesome guy with a great love of the outdoors. Sad day.

Sad news to hear, I did not know Colockumelk but appreciated his posts - I remember his last post saying he was heading out for duty & I thought " What a great stand up guy". Prayers to the family & friends of this hero.

This is absolutely horrible news. As others I never had the pleasure to meet him, but appreciated his brutal honesty thru his posts, even though he ruffled a few feathers, he was spot on. Thank you for your service young man and may God be with your family at this unimaginable time. We need to bring this men and women home before anymore harm comes to them.

What a shame.  I hope that one day his family and friends will once again find joy.   Rest in Peace Colockumelk :salute:

Wow this is very sad. I wish your family the best through this hard time blrman. Hopefully you will get the opportunity to take your nephew hunting at sime point. Hopefully you'll get an opportunity to put him behind a BLR .243 or 30.06 someday! Perfect first big game rifle.

Like many others on here, I never met the man in person, but through reading his posts on here he seemed like a great, knowledgeable man.  My condolences to the family, just a terrible loss.  :sry:

Hey everyone I just thought I would check in and give an update on whats going on.  My father and I flew out last night to Dover AFB where we met my younger brother who flew in from Ft. Richardson Alaska.  We had an amazing flight experience as the USO catered to our every need.  We are staying at the Fisher House which is a crazy nice house that is for the family of the fallen with all the comforts of home and more food than a Costco.  Aaron came in at about 1630 and the Honorary Transport ceremony was very well done.  My big brothers flag draped coffin being carried off of a C-17 was something I cannot describe with words.  My brother and I were blown away when we pulled up huntwa and saw all the support from everyone.  The Joshua cup was really something else to see!  Thank you everyone!  They will hold Aaron's body for about 5 days to do all the necessary preparations and then Michael will escort him home and I will fly home.  I will keep everyone updated on everything and when the services will be.  From me and my whole family, THANK YOU!!!!
It is foolish and wrong to mourn these men.  Rather, we should thank god that such men lived.  -General George S. Patton

I actually lived across the street from the Blanchard's when I we were little.  Me and my older brother, and Karl and Aaron played together all of the time.  (20+ years ago)

The one thing that I can say, is even back then, Aaron dreamed of being a military aviator.  So at the very least, he accomplished his childhood dream, unfortunately many more he didn't even get a shot at completing.

Our whole family's thoughts are with you and the family Karl.

edit: I just realized this was my first post, been lurking for 6 months or so.
