Lets see 2013 Desert Unit 290 Permit Bucks
« on: October 13, 2013, 03:05:55 PM »
I will go first. I went out opener and passed on a spike and a 2pt in a herd of 15 at first light. I almost shot the 2pt after watching him for awhile. I am glad I passed on him because I might of never seen this big boy. I was working my may back and I started calling with the rabbit call RR gave me and spotted my buddy around 500 yards walking my way. So I got up and flanked him and a nice buck stood up at around 150 to 200 yards. It was a shooter I put up my shooting sticks and took aim and fired. The smoke cleared and he was gone. I herd the hit and didn't see him running. So I ran over and found him dead. He is the biggest I have ever shot. I am so happy I passed on a spike whitetail early season and on the 2 little bucks opener of my permit. Good luck to ever one that has the permit and I would love to see more pic's and story's of monsters out of the desert unit this year. Shot with my Knight Big Horn .50 Cal MuzzleLoader /  250gr bullet

Awesome. That's a great buck and well worth the wait I'm sure.

Nice buck, how many points did you have? I have 12 points for same hunt but I just took a job in Oregon so they will go to waste unless I want to buy non-resident WA tags for now on.

That's a great looking buck.  I think I would have to put that one on the wall.
