Pushy beavers
« on: November 05, 2013, 07:45:14 AM »
Don't you hate it when you go check your traps and the beavers push the colony traps out of the way or smash them. I don't want to trap beavers this year, but when this happens it make me think twice about it. I love trapping beavers but they are too time consuming.

Just "venting" I guess.

I wish I had a picture of a 30 lb beaver that I caught in a double-wide colony trap two years ago.  Let's say he was pushing too   :yike:

But I never had troubles with them moving the trap, they'd just go around it and let it fill up with mink and muskrats.

Yeah if I had my druthers, the beavers would be worth a heck of a lot more because I never could resist catching them but darn it if they aren't worth it.

I received a check from NAFA yesterday for a beaver pelt that didn't sell last season but did recently. It was an XL beaver that brought $46.94. That's a good sign that the prices might be up this season. I'm thinking twice about trapping beaver now.  or  :bdid:
