Sorry, but I feel that guys need to try way harder to harvest the meat out of waterfowl. Meat is meat, and I feel you owe it to the bird and the sport to attempt to get all the meat from your kill.

Dumping it in the open is a another bad idea.

Didn't you condone Fred for making an instructional video on Gutless skinning of elk.? Although you did say most butchers would turn it away. I do not believe Fred takes all of the meat he could and he also owes it to the animals .Just saying. :twocents:

You may not remember but Fred qualified his procedure by saying that the video only showed the basic procedure and ended before they had taken the remaining rib, neck, brisket, etc.  i don't think anyone was coming back to get the legs off this pile. I am sure it has been done but wonder what a ducks parts weigh as a percentage of the whole bird?

What he actuall said was he probably will take SOME of the neck meat. He also qualified it by saying he has done what the state requires legally. A statement he should have left out. It does raise some question how much meat was recovered.
I agree that no one should dump the carcass where non hunters or anyone that gets offended by this should see them. They should be put in a trash can.It is totally up to the individual whether they take the legs or not. Duck legs have bones like Turkey legs. Some do not like them. Their choice. But still should be put in trash can. I even keep the leg bones of Quail. Pain but delicious.
