colt trooper special 357 mag
« on: December 27, 2008, 08:34:46 PM »
just got word from my father back east that this colt pistol that belonged to my grandfather will be handed down to me. if i remember correctly it is a 6" wood gripped pistol in good shape, but don't know much about them. anybody have any info on them? good gun? not too concerned as it was the pistol my grandfather carried back in the day as a police officer in upstate new york, so the sentimental value is more important than anything to me. also getting a stainless ruger single six convertible with both cylinders which i always enjoyed plinking with as a kid.

I agree with jdb.  IMHO, a Colt Trooper is to a Colt Python what a S&W M28 was to a M27.

Keep & enjoy.

Thats awesome, hang onto it. My great granpa was a prison guard and my dad has a .38 cal hammerless pistol that I will eventually inherit.
