I just returned my 2 person tree stand   :yike:

ONLY because i got another one for cheaper.  I'm thinking about buying a backup, just in case.  A 2 person tree stand for $70 is hard to beat.

D-Rock is just bitter because the last time he shot a bear on his own (without my firearm's assistance and hunting guidemanship) was before he met me in 2012.  He knows hes nothing with out me.

With that being said, he's one h*ll of a bear corpse packer for being a little guy and I'd gladly have him on any hunt.

My dad drew Monroe area. This will be our first spring bear we've done.  Really Looking forward to the experience!

Glad to hear Griz, I think thats good enough to call it 4 Hunt Wa members.  Not bad.  Maybe we should get together mid season for a drink and to talk about how things are going.   :dunno:

The most important thing I learned was that If you shoot, shoot again fast as you can.   Don't count on the first shot, even if it hits the ground

To address the last note on here, between D-Rock and myself we have slung a lot of bullets at bears.  If I have learned anything from our together adventures, it is that you REALLY need to keep shooting until you see them down and even if they do go down, be sure you keep the gun ready on them just in case they pop back up again.  They're tough as nails and tracking them in the dark is terrifying.  I really want to bring my 6.5 Grendel out, but I think bigger bullets are preferable to smaller ones, even in rapid succession.  Therefore, I'll be bringing my .375 out and keep my .45 on my side with a flashlight mounted for personal protection when I inevitably end up tracking one in the dark with D-Rock (thanks buddy).

Two bears, two bullets, total tracking time between the two: 2 minutes, total distance traveled: 12 feet.

You fellas need to sling a little less and make the one you do count  :chuckle: :dunno:

Stang is right....D-rock can only kill elk ( and deer) , for bear, he is nothing without Stang. Can't believe the texts I get sometimes.....sheesh.

Drink mid season? Please.....before! Gotta look at maps, talk about past bears, plan!!!! C'mon.

. Lol h20.  I assure you I am not out slinging bullets.  I shoot quite often.  I am simply saying take another shot if given, bears are tough, and it sucks to have one get away, but it happens and no one is proud of that.
On the other hand I did finish the season with two bears tagged, and a cougar

For sure.  It's the two love birds I'm referring to. It's hard to shoot while holding hands you know.

for those of you who have drawn the tag before when do you generally get the map and key/combo? I'm getting anxious and want to get out and start looking around.

Got everything at the meeting last year...map, combo for the locks, permit for inside vehicle. Should be about 2 weeks before the season in Mill Creek
