Robbed off Hy 18 today smash and grab
« on: December 15, 2015, 07:49:03 PM »
I haven't hunted on the west side for over 30 years because I live in the Teanaway, but today I decided to try and fill my hunter Education Incentive tag off of Hy 18 my tag is for any deer in most of the 400 gmu's, due to work load and having to rebuild the engine on my grader I put off hunting until today, big mistake for I had my truck window smashed out and lost my brand new Proton Limbsaver bow along with most all my sitka gear and misc clothes. I parked off the Tiger Mt summit road, its the brand new Proton in Vista camo pattern, very few of these bows out there. Not a good day  :(

Had the same thing happen in the same area 5-6 years ago. Lost carhart clothing, arrows, bow case, etc. The didn't pop my trunk or I would have lost a couple hundred dollars in tools. It was enough for me not to go back since.

Sorry, but my answer is catch 'em, beat the livin' day lights out of them, to within an inch of their life and post it on social media. The cops can't and won't won't do anything about. They have bigger fish to catch.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

That's a real bummer. I read the following thread this morning, and now this.  :bash:

Sorry for your loss, it's a very a maddening experience that far too many of us go through. Not much out there lower than a thief.

 :yeah:

I deal with them every day almost.
Sorry to hear that.
I use to not worry about it but now dats you can't leave anything in a car.
I put a gun cabinet across my back seats and chained and bolted it down.
Everything of value goes in it if I leave the truck.

Sounds like the perfect job for a retired guy in a ghillie suite just to watch things and solve problems. A new super hero for honest hunters, Ghillie Man....the tweakers nightmare.

Drove over tiger twice today. Were you in the red truck with the older canopy/camper on it?
