My son's first turkey on his first day.
« on: April 25, 2016, 08:38:51 PM »
An odd series of events led us to hunting on private property for my 25 year old son's first turkey hunt and after a long day of chasing and calling he got this nice eastern jake at 65 yards with his brand new benelli.
I know it's a little bit of a long distance but it was all head and neck.
I love turkey hunting like few other things.

Nice and at a long distance, too. I'm getting anxious to get out there and bag a gobbler soon.

I'm headed east again Thursday. Farther east this time.
I've never been farther than republic for turkeys so I'll just be wandering like a rookie. I  heard there's a few less around republic this year...
