Idaho unit 45; drawn!!!
« on: June 25, 2016, 12:16:52 PM »
So excited, I got drawn for an Archery mule deer tag in idaho's famed unit 45! My cousin lives in Boise and knows the area better than I do, but I'm excited to scout and get a chance at a monster Mule deer.

I know some members  on here have had some experience in the area.  Any advice on how  to maximize my scouting trips? Not sure how many trips I can spare between other obligations, want to maximize my time.

Will keep the trip log up-to date through my adventure.  :IBCOOL:

Great tag congrats!

Used to be a good hunt, about 5 years ago or so Internet has way to over publicized it.

Jealous of you man! I had the rifle tag last season. Killed my buck the 7th or 8th day into my trip. Only saw one other "shooter" and passed on him the first day I was there.  It all holds deer just some areas way more than others.  I'm sure your cousin will know some good spots to check out but shoot me a pm if you need some more areas to check out scouting

So reading more and talking with other hunters that have been there, it looks like I might want to hold out for a 150" plus bucks??? :o. I've always been more of a meat hunter but there's always a first for everyone...
