Lefty Shotgun
« on: February 08, 2009, 01:38:57 PM »
Hey I want to get a left handed shotgun for waterfowl since my O/U is too nice for me to take on duck hunts. And I don't have a whole lot of money to spend. I would also really like a semi auto but there aren't many in my price range (below $600) :yike:. And I am wondering if a shotgun like the Charles Daly Field hunter VR-MC is any good.

If you have shot one of these or have one please tell me how it performes. I have heard good and bad about it and I am wondering what your experiances are with it. If it isn't any good I may just get an 870 express, but I don't really want a pump.

used Browning BPS might be an option to look into if you go pump
I've hunted almost everyday of my life, the rest have been wasted.

No charles daly here

But i do have a left handed M2 and i like it alot. I know its not in the price range but it was mentioned up above.

I dont really mind shooting right handed guns but it does make it nice when you have a lefty one just for you.

I also had an O/U before I bought my M2, and couldnt justify dirtyin up such a purty gun

Yeah the M2 would be awesome. But I can't spend that much money on a gun I may not use that much.

Unless maybe they make it without the comfortec stock, in a lefty configuration. But i dought it.

I dont think you can get them new that way (could be wrong) but i think the older SBEI didnt have the comfortech and they mightve made those in LH. Maybe used or something?

That's what I was thinking as well. I own an SBE in left-hand and have used it almost exclusively for everything over the past 10 years. Hands down best auto-loader I've shot. I'd think you could find a used one to fit your budget.

Remington makes an 870 that has the ejection port on the wrong side.   :chuckle:

Yes, it is a pump, but will last longer than any auto you may look at.   :twocents:
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

The Rem 1100 and 1187 comes in LH as well. I have a LH 1100 setup with a 24" barrel for quail and sporting clays.

I used to be right-handed, but overcame my handicap at an early age.  :IBCOOL:
