The basic story behind this.....I got into these bucks the evening before. Both were about the biggest I had seen all year. I closed the gap and got decent pics of them(calendar shot). I was waiting for a buck fight to happen but they ended up spooking. Both were dominant bucks and they had a doe. We went back the next morning and this was what we saw. Thick as thick gets. I was pretty upset, borderline cranky. Then out of the fog steps this guy. He was what I was after. There was hardly enough light. I was shooting full frame of this beast. Then back behind him I spot the other big. THere was no way I could fit them both in as I was so close. This buck ended up walking right by me. I took a pile of pics. Mostly it was too dark and too foggy for anything of quality. The other buck was the spooky one. He stood there for some time then moved off to the side and disappeared in the fog never to be seen again. I used one of those images as December for my calendar. Lack of snow but a wintery feel to it.
All I could do with this guy at this point was vertical.....
