I am putting in for spring bear this year for the blues.  Never done that before, but looking forward to it if I get drawn.

My plan is to get my boy a bear.  He turned 10 this week, got his first buck last year.  We bear hunted this fall but didn't connect.  I would really like to get him his first bear this year.  Gonna put a little more time into it than we did last year.  We have about 4 bear running around our elk camp and they need to be thinned out. :hunter:

Have quad(s), will travel  :)

I have one personally, and my cousin-in-law lets me borrow his whenever I want.

And, I'm hoping to get a 6 foot or better bear.

Since I have a slightly better than 6' Bear already, I won't shoot one unless I figure it's considerably larger. But my 14yr old (will be 15 by season opener), really wants to go Bear hunting in the back country. I figure we'll have a few scouting trips as day hikes then some overnighters roughing it with backpack and bivey sack. I tend to look for Bear above the treeline when the Blueberries are ripe. This are a couple clearcuts we'll take a look at, and I know of a place where the huckleberries are pretty good. We'll take a peak there too.

Well well well, I'm going to Idaho this year. i have a friend who has 8 hounds!!! :IBCOOL: i finally got drawn for the nonresident hound hunter permit. its been a few years in the making but its finally my time! i can either take one this spring or in the fall or both if I'm up to it! I'm still trying to figure out what i want to take it with. i have a lot of options, but considering i have never taken a black bear i want to make it special!

WA - Hopefully a Spring tag.  Will hunt Fall bear on private land in the Blues.  Might try to head over to the west side, time permitting.  Probably rifle.

ID - Spring and Fall, hounds and bait, Archery.

Looking for a black pumpkin head!  I've been blessed with the color phase varieties, but have only killed a 5 1/2' blackie.

Good luck, be sure to post pics

Got a big color phased one located.  Might have to coax him onto private land though. ;)   That is if I don't get lucky and draw a spring tag with max points. LOL

To waste hundreds of dollars in gas. Countless hours, and come home empty handed. Assuming I don't get a spring bear tag. If I get drawn for that again I feel pretty confident. That was a real thrill coming face to face at about 15 feet with the bear I got this spring.
