Thumb trigger release with wrist strap
« on: May 24, 2017, 10:25:10 PM »
Anyone have a recommendation for a thumb trigger release that also has a wrist strap attached? Those are the only two requirements.

What's the reason behind the wrist strap requirement? Just curious

Same question, I hate a wrist strap and took mine off. I went with a 4-finger TruFire and love it. The strap is a pain and usually requires two hands to get back in your grip plus it is always swinging around. I didn't like a traditional release for this reason either, but I don't sit in a stand either.

I feel like it would reduce the slight chance that I would lose/misplace it on a hunt. I never take my release off my wrist while hunting.

I have generally still hunted archery and I hate having something banging my hand. I used a traditional release for a couple years and would spin it to the back of my wrist but didn't like it. I now carry my 4-finger release in a pocket and pull it out when needed. To each their own style...

Tru ball has a number of them that you can hook up to a wrist strap.

I shoot a Whippersnapper and it has a hole for a cord or rawhide strap.

Went to the store today and tried a couple out, then bought a couple to try at my home range. I'm going with the BlackOut 3 Finger. I could basically mimic the same shot execution as my backtension hinge. Thanks for the recommendations guys.

I had my wife make me a wrist strap out of para cord for my thumb release.  I have been in the stand and dropped mine 30 minutes prior to dark.  LOVE having a wrist strap.
