Potholes Report
« on: June 19, 2017, 12:16:59 PM »
Spent the weekend at Potholes - in three days I think I saw maybe 5 or 6 fish jumping out in the big lake. We found a few at Winchester Falls, but nowhere near what there should be at this time of year. Has the spawn already occurred or is the cold spring pushing it back later? Usually there are hundreds of carp splashing in the reeds and shallows now, and there wasn't a single one actively spawning while I was there. Weird. Also, it rained on us for two of the three days and the temp never got over 75 degrees, also weird.

Finally, is it just me or is the water level way down? I'm pretty much over there every June for Father's Day and I couldn't get my boat into places that I usually have no problem getting to - I would say that the water was down a good 2-3 feet from what is was last year, has anyone else noticed that and if so does anyone know why?

Any input would be appreciated!
