Only 124 bears for the whole state for spring bear hunt.
Here's a link to spring bear harvest,I do wish people that draw would hunt the tag more,if I would of draw I would hunt from opening day till the last day .But I only put in for gmu that I know I could hunt everyday. :dunno:

https://wdfw.wa.gov/hunting/harvest/2016/reports/bear_hunt_name.php

Wow, didn't realize the success rate was that low, almost down there with finding a true spike elk in the end of October.

That's with 412 hunters reporting?  816 permits, so only 1/2 reported.   Let's see if that number changes this year with new reporting requirements.

What reporting requirements?

Read it and weep.

Report requirement: Hunters will be required to report hunting activity for each special permit awarded in addition to their general season hunting activity report.
All successful black bear hunters statewide MUST submit a black bear premolar tooth per WACs 220-415-080 and 220-415-090. Tooth envelopes are available at all WDFW offices, and one should be included in your spring bear special hunt packet. The premolar tooth is located behind the canine tooth.

Failure to report is a misdemeanor.

I always report my kills, but how is the state going to know if people don’t?
