Bowling Pin Shoots?
« on: March 18, 2018, 05:13:30 PM »
Are there any clubs that still do pin shoots on the wet side? I was shooting them twice a month before I moved out here and kinda miss it. Its a ton of fun.
Practical accuracy and a packable rifle.
Blued steel and walnut is always better.

I don’t know about shoots but I have probably a couple hundred pins for 3.00 each if anyone wants a bunch.

bowling pins fun to shoot..i've got a couple set up 100 yards from my back patio...they take 223 rounds really good but you hit them a couple times with my 358 and its a lot of collateral damage...not bad with my 50 year old eyes to hit them at 100 yards with open sights...really sux getting old

the old ones I shot were 5 pins at 21 feet on a steel table. you started with a load chamberd at rest, at the signal you raised your gun and cleared the table as fast as you could, spinners do not count the pin had to leave the table. It took center hits and full power loads. 10 seconds were OK, 7 seconds  pretty fast, 4 seconds Bad AZZ, 2.5
they were lots of fun

All the ones I have done were head to head. I think they are the most fun because its a simple and relaxed competition but still challenging because the pins have to be cleared off the table and reloads are almost guarenteed.

A buddy used to do those, was trying to think of the name of the place... :bash:

Wasn't sure if they were still doing it or not.

There used to be a gun shop in Yakima with a shooting range in the lower level and they had bowling pin shoots.  It was head to head and like Tjkride said, the pins had to be completely knocked off the table.  It was a lot of fun.

Not quite that long.  I was in my early 20's when Randy had those bowling pin shoots and I'm only 49 now so not quite.  ;)

Yes I’m pretty sure that’s it. Just down from Costco, across from Union HS. And before lacamas lake.
