Why do I see so many people putting the fillet skin side down on a piece of foil and then onto the grill, and what seems to be no flipping involved?

I used to do it that way too, with white wine in the tinfoil boat.  But then I tried the flesh side method and never went back.

First off...GREAT GUY TO DEAL WITH!!! Thank you so much, appreciate the communication very much. Slight delay at the airport but other than that fantastic transaction! Fish was fresh and so nice looking. 11 fish for 79.5# means big beautiful fish  :IBCOOL:. Well cared for, so clean, just awesome. If I can figure it out I will try to get some pics on here but they look a lot like the others posted  :EAT: :EAT: :cue:.

Skillet, put us in right now for a winter deal if it even comes close to happening we are in!!! THANKS AGAIN

I bough one box and now I wish I bought 3.   Skillet, you da man!  Everything is filleted and we figure we have 6 months of salmon dinners once/wk for our young family.  Freakin sweet.  Cooked one up tonight.

I have multiple people who are asking about this and wanting in on the next batch.  Can’t wait.

Skillet is great to work with by the way!  Answered all my questions despite his extremely busy schedule!

Skillet, I went in with syoungs and we both realized real quickly we should have ordered a lot more!  The product is amazing and I am truly thankful for the effort you went through to make this happen.  I got my portion of the box vac sealed and put away for future meals.  Thank you!
Please keep us posted on your next boxes.  I know myself and Syoungs are very interested in doing it again and would love to get some of those spot prawns and hopefully some halibut as well as anything else you will have available and we will be doing multiple boxes instead of just the single.
Here are a few pictures from this evening...

Thanks for the kind words, all.  I work hard to produce the best you can get anywhere, but to have this group of guys say such great things makes me doubly proud. I am also showing these to my deckhand to impress upon him that my constant reminders to maintain quality are not for nothing.

Really digging the pictures of the fish you guys are posting, and the stories that go along with them. It's not often a fisherman gets to see what people do with the bounty he works to bring in.  It's one of the reasons I like to do the direct box sales for the board.

Again, thanks for the support and kind words HuntWa'ers!

As one of Skillet's wholesale customers I handle hundreds of pounds of salmon a week and his are by far the nicest we see all season! Absolutely top notch quality. Filleted out a couple today for a customer and the fish cut as beautiful as the looked whole!

Wow, those filets look amazing. Wish that salmon would last the trip over to the sandbox here, blows any fish from the chow hall out of the water! Cannot wait for the winter kings!!!!

Jeez, fungunnin - you filet those with a wooden spoon?  If you don't start taking better care of the fish I send you, I'm going to start selling your share to Skippers  :chuckle:

I was demoted from knifework so I can't post mine. Probably just make people mad.
