Gear for above average girls?
« on: November 19, 2018, 11:46:59 PM »
Not trying to subject generalize or be an overbearing guy.....

My girl has no shame admitting...

She has a big butt....

Standard gear you find at the store ain't working...

She says buying stuff online with given dimensions is impossible. Driving store to store is useless cuz its all the same.... She aint BIG, and she is editor of this thread....

Where do you find gear for a chick that doesnt fit the Barbie mould??

I do not dare say plus-size, because it hardly applies.....

Where and who makes gear for chicks that don't fit the girlie profile??

My man stuff doesnt work for my partner, and neither does the girl stuff....

Girls, women, PLEASE help

Seriously, not being insensitive, she says she is tired of gear that doesnt fit girls with big hips....

Girls please give input

What brands has she tried? My wife loves her Firstlite pants, made with 4way stretch material which may help with being a little more muscular in the backside. Sitka also makes some nice stuff or you may try some of the mountaineering brands. Good luck!!

Try day one Camo they can do custom pants.. they are not to expensive either. Have your choice of fabrics. Wool, fleece, saddle cloth, cotton....and a handful of Camo options as well.

My daughter prefers men/s hunting coats, she isn't big at all but throws shot and discus and finds the women's stuff is too tight through the shoulders.

Prana. My wife loves the women's version of the Zion, cant' recall the name. They have great 4-way stretch and my wife is far from having a flat backside.

Unfortunately big companies don't make things for the small 1% of different shape people. My niece is almost 6 ft tall and has 37 inch inseams and she's model thin. She can't buy any pants off of the rack. So they have found a good tailor and she has clothes adjusted to fit her. Your girl is probably going to have to do the same thing. Find the pants that are closest and have the pants adjusted by a good seamstress so that they fit what she needs. Most likely that will mean finding a men's pant and having it taken in at the hips.

That's a good thought right there.  Skip the camo bottom and find a good outdoor pant in solid color to hunt in.

My sis in law has a rather round back end but is not a big girl. She just got that Kim K butt. Anyway, she has luck with Under Armor and even some Sitka.  :twocents:

What type of hunting does she do?

sit in a blind? up in a tree?
chase elk up a mountain side in September?
crossing rocky ridges chasing goats?
walking in behind locked gates a couple miles?

We gotta narrow this down some before we toss out too many suggestions.

There is a womens brand out there. Prious (or something close to that) but I have '0' knowledge of it's sizing.
