Manhole Beaver
« on: December 19, 2018, 09:22:39 PM »

I hate these kind of jobs.  This is the third one I've done like this.
I have a beaver living in the middle of the street in the manhole pipe/sewer drainage system.
They will live there a long time if no one see them.  And you thought they only live in ponds and on rivers.   :chuckle:

A few years back I had a Health Department guy (Kink Co) tell me he was inside the sewer pipe when all of a sudden he heard a noise and he jumped up on the steps and watch a "herd of rats" run by him.  He said something was after them and they were booking it out of there.  He said he climbed up and out and never seen what was chasing them.

So think about this, I'm trapping beaver in the middle of a road draining system.................what else is down there?  :yike:
The manhole your looking at is just off the sidewalk on the grass.

See now after several years in the sewer and drainfield repair industry, when I get my wco that would be right up my alley!

I have caught 2 in similar situations here in Granite. There was a third one that someone introduced to a pitch fork, at least according to the rumors anyway. :dunno:
May that for which I prepare never come to pass.

I would just rodd the pipe. Those rodents would come out skinned, fleshed and ready for the board.
