With a weekend of nice weather predicted, my wife and I are looking for something fun to get out in the woods for this weekend. I pulled my cameras at the end of september as I got lucky and tagged out early this year. In hindsight I should have left them to see when antlers start dropping but I dont have the highest quality cameras and didn't want to risk damaging them in the W. Washington rain. Has anyone seen blacktails shedding headgear yet?

I'm curious, do you leave your cams out in public lands? I have been wanting to get a set of trail cams, but figured they would just grow legs...for my confort,I would have to purchase a ; one to watch the trail and 1 to watch the trail cam just cathce the Ba%#$rD$.

I saw 2 bucks on the side of I-5 right by Cabelas in Lacey about a week and a half ago, both had dropped their antlers.

Going out this weekend, is there something to the advice of looking more in the south facing slopes ? I have found two black tail sheds in the last two years. Looking forward to trying to find more!!

Always had good luck around heavy cedar trees and openings in thick cover.

Found my first freshie on Feb 3rd, earliest one ever, 3 point.  None since  :dunno:
