WA Mountain Goat auction tag
« on: February 23, 2019, 09:10:57 PM »
Sold for $30k tonight in Lynnwood. The generosity is outstanding. Tons of money on the ground for WA mountain goats.

Talked with the guy who bought it. He said he bought it for a friend. Should have asked him if he wanted a new friend  :chuckle:

Was it Aryon Snyder? Ran into him, and his friend he bought the goat tag for one year hunting goats.

I'm sure it was lower. As I recall they were considered almost a varmint and hunters didnt put a lot of effort into hunting them. Probably akin to a cougar tag today: you get one just in case you run into one. I think they were $5.

He didn’t pay for it for someone else. He bid for the other guy who wasn’t present. The guy on the other end of the phone paid for it.

I wonder if the guy placing the bid was nervous about spending $30k if the guy on the other end backed out.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

Depends who’s bid number it was  :chuckle:

I’ve bid for someone else who couldn’t be present but it was their packet and their credit card on file.

I’d be terrified.

Heard through the local grapevine it is a hunter known to us all who buys a lot of Auction tags around the west.  Will probably be new state record if the number I heard was correct. No pics and I wont say the name out of respect for privacy.

:dunno: known to us all? Didn't he have the tag last year? If so, he's a pretty private guy and not known to us all. Good luck to the hunter.
