Be interested to see where folks are with points.  I have 12 deer and 10 elk.  No man’s land.  In that same time, I’ve drawn top tier units in CO, ID and Nevada.   3 in Idaho and 2 in Nevada.

Kinda wish I never started in Utah.  Once I use my pts, I’m done.

I just started a couple years ago. So 2 deer 2 elk and 2 antelope. The good news is after the draw I'll have 3 of each :chuckle:

I'll start using Utah as an annual deer hunt starting next year.  As for LE elk and deer, man I hope I can get out soon.  I'm actively trying for some easier to draw muzzy hunts the last few years with no luck

I have 7 general deer tag pts, I need to hunt the general as I have twice as many as it takes to draw the “toughest” unit

I need to stop buying them...

:chuckle: over achiever.  That's where I'm at.  Time to pick a spot I can hunt every year and start learning it inside and out.  The potential for a solid addition to the line up is definitely there.

I put in for points again for general. So next year I'll have 3 and definitely want to burn them either next year or the year after.

You go check it out and I’ll share my pts with you the following year  :chuckle:

Hell, I’ll have enough for 3-4 guys!

There is actually a general unit that takes 8 points to draw. Might be a good one for you to burn your points on so they don't feel wasted.

Now I'm second guessing myself, I've wanted out of the points game here in wa and now I want to start all over in another state at almost 50 years old?  I'm thinking I'll just pass, Idaho will be my go to non resident hunt, with no points game to play I'll feel much better about it.  I do appreciate all the help though and wish you guys lots of luck!  Those permits looks crazy hard to draw, I hope your all young guys with lots of time to kill.
“In common with”..... not so much!!

The only reason I get an elk point is because it is $5 after I apply for Bison.  I think even then I am probably just throwing $5 away.

You can get a general tag pretty much every year 2.

you're really old Jerry but you still have one or two seasons left in you before the nursing home :chuckle:

You can absolutely jump in, you just need to tailor your expectations.  You need to be planning on HUNTING not point building.  If you are trying to get a top tier unit you will always be behind but theres mountains of tags across the west that can be had with 0-3 points.  Lots of which will be far better than WA premier draw units. Start hunting man!

I'll be signing up to hunting fool here in the next day or two, maybe that will help me figure out the puzzle of decent tags to apply for and not the lifelong commitment ones.
