After Cameron got the last bear with the hounds his dad Robert nailed the next bear over bait, congrats to both of them! Here's the message I got back from Robert:

Quote
Hi Dale,
I just wanted to let you know my son and I had a fantastic time hunting with Bryan. As always, he is very professional, an excellent guide and a great guy. Anthony and Jentry did a great job too. Thanks for such a great experience. God bless.
Robert

Ps: I have now been out with a handful of other outfitters and you are the best!

This was the week of smaller bear, all week the guys were seeing small to medium bear, it was like all the big boars went into hiding. Finally yesterday morning Brian and Anthony got onto a big boar and Nick nailed this chocolate that squared 6'8" and scaled 310 which is pretty good weight for a spring bear. Nick dropped him with his 28 Nosler. Ruby even got in on the action with the hounds, she's in one of the photos but looked away just as the photo was taken. I think Nick is getting a lifesize done, this boar should make an impressive mount! There's some good distance between the ears, I'm curious what his head will measure.

Beautiful bear!!!

Side Note Dale, do you know Leon Brown, from Clark's Fork Outfitters?  Going around on several hound pages, he's in ICU in Spokane after a bad accident, broken back, neck and pelvis.

Yes we know who Leon is, Brian was just talking to him a couple weeks ago. Dang, I wonder what kind of accident? Sure hope he'll be OK!

This one did go up a tree, there was about a half dozen hounds, we usually tie 3 dogs at a time back with one leash and a triple coupler! Some of the big bear have to be shot on the ground, they won't climb, that can be pretty hairy, last year one big boar picked out and charged Brian, he had to run, LOL. Interestingly, the biggest bear I ever caught, about 30 years ago, treed with only three dogs. Here's a couple more photos of this last big bear!

Cade nailed a dandy blackie at 102 yards on the second day of his Washington spring bear hunt today. Two other bear were spotted earlier but he couldn't get a shot, this third bear was the best anyway, luck was on your side Cade, nice going, excellent bear!  :hello:

John killed his Washington bear today, they saw a cinnamon earlier but couldn't get a shot, then this black one walked out. John drilled him with his 7mm Rem Mag, the bear was hit hard but had to be tracked for about 600 yards, it was barely (pun intended) bleeding, sometimes no blood for 50 yards, guide Ray did an excellent job tracking and they finally found the bear. Congrats John, well done!

I forgot to mention, this last WA bear was chewed up from apparently fighting. He had canine holes in his rear leg and front leg, the rut is on, I think he's been fighting other bear.

With the rut kicking in we've been finding more boars again. Here's another nice boar caught with the hounds in Idaho, Logan drilled him with his trusty lever action. Congrats to Logan!

Another dandy Idaho bear, we've really been finding some good bear this year. Logan's dad Jon nailed this one on bait the second day of their hunt and they are both done hunting with nice bear to take home. Congrats to both of them!
