Little update put a few arrows through it and my groups are worse from last weekend. Fletching material is all over my QAD rest. As for my spot hog. Went to 60 yards and the top pointer isn’t on a number so idk what to make of this. A little frustrated as I’m leaving the 24th for a hunting trip.

Hate to be "that guy", but my first tip would be to wait until next year to bowhunt.

I was thinking that after today. What sucks is that I know it’s the bow. I shot all summer with my older brothers bow with no issues and than was able to get my own set up and now these issues. It’s frustrating cause I’ve been to a few bow shops and paid to have them “set up” just to find one problem after another. But I’m leaning towards waiting like you said I don’t want to put a bad shot on an animal.

Why not use the bow you have been practicing with?
My comment was because it sounded like you just got a bow, and been having issues...
Honestly, is was just such equipment issues that was the final straw for me to switch to a recurve.
Seems something was always off, loose, coming loose, etc..with a recurve all you need is an extra string.
The nut on the riser is the only thing I can blame issues on.

Sounds like you need to get it tuned. Not sure what shops you have been to but most shops should have you good to go in less than an hour.

It was the nut on the string for the QAD that had come loose. I fixed that up and ran it through paper to see if it was flying true. And it is now. I’m not able to use the bow I was because it’s my brothers and he is coming on the trip as well.

2 clubs located near you are Tacoma sportsmen and Skookum Archers. I have been to both clubs and you will meet great people at both.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
