THANKS EVERYBODY, it was a great hunt, but I consider it not over yet, Boneaddict and I both have time off so we are going to camera hunt now, after a couple day visit with my grand kids which I don't get to see much of. We both enjoy the woods enough camera hunting is just as rewarding and alot less work, of course pictures don't eat good but we are lucky to have our freezers full for winter. Bone takes good care of the old man, he does most of the work. Anyway we are looking forward to the next week or more, in the woods observing and taking pictures of the wild life.

Great buck booner, pics are awesome too!

The moss don't grow on you guys. I've never seen so many one day hunts.

I questioned our wisdom on tagging out early, but from what we have seen, we haven't topped him yet.  We saw one this morning that was close, but I think it was a good 3.5 year old buck, where Dads probably had a year on him.  I'll get the pics on here when I get home in front of the puter.   We saw two yesterday that hw would have liked to have hung his tag on, but they weren't in this unit.  They were nice NE corner bucks.  We saw 19 bucks yesterday.  A nice on e in the morning along with a couple dinks, then nothing for about 9 hours, then a whole pile right before dark.  One was a gorgeous 170 buck.  The rut isn't quite as far along over there for the mulies and the only whitetail buck we saw wasn't even there.  Didn't see any whitetail rut activity at all yet.

Thanks guys for the complements.  Like bone said we seen a nice buck this morning, seen a couple small ones then we took a short break, got eats and scouted out some new areas. Then back to the camera hunt, we did find a fairly nice one this evening, 9 bucks in all today.  Boneaddict had to take  some long shots with his camera today, the deer are getting spooky, the rut is going strong in this area so I hope the other late tag hunters do as well as we did. I'm glad we decided to tag out early, so far we haven't found  one I would trade for in this area. I'm going to give it a break for a while and get some H-does done. ;)

Here is the buck we saw that was comparable.  I haven't compared the pics side by side yet, but I think Dad's buck had a bit better upper forks about as heavy  but not as nice of a spread. Doesn't matter, both were great bucks.  I'd have to have drug this one uphill, so you made the perfect choice. ;)  Sorry for the blurr, it was nearly dark or just shooting light. I think I have some with my other camera on a tripod, I can't remember.  I'll check it out. Those other boys drove by this guy.  Sometimes it doesn't pay to be in a hurry.

i think i know what 1 of my 4 choices will be next year.
 :chuckle:
there are some deer in there that will be brutes next year if they make it.

Congrats to both the hunter and the guide on a great buck, great hunt and great experience.  Good job to both!
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
You are never to old to learn something stupid.

Thanks Goldtip.  Here are a couple cleaner pics.  These were from the other camera on a tripod.
