Anyone know how many people typically get a tag? Of course this year is everything but typical!!

 It’s generally been about 300 IIRC.

My buddy’s number last year was in the 800’s - got his tag in early October
that doesnt mean there was 800 tags. That just means the tags made it into the 800's. Remember, you don't have to say yes to tag. Lots of people turn them down, especially that late into the year.

Varies year to year . Last year I was 698 got the call a couple weeks after 4th of July , another buddy was 1070 ( or something like that ) he also got a call . Year before hunting partner was 298 got the call 4 days before Thanksgiving.
Anyone that thinks a Glock is better than a 1911 paints his toenails.

I’m now 945.. now that i picked up a returned Idaho tag and also have idaho elk season to work around I’m not sure i could make general Montana work..

I jumped up from in the 1600's to 135... But, likely can't make it work this year so it will get past my number.

I was told the queue number that's posted in your Montana licensing account reduces as people below you either 'pass' or buy a license when offered one.  Is this how it worked in the past?

Also, do you know how long they give you to respond after they send out the email to offer a license?

In years past as they update the system yes your number changed . Last year I never got an email , just a phone call , asking if I wanted a tag .

I was 480 on the list last year and I got a email early September saying I was selected to buy a license.  I had 6 days to call and purchase the license.
