I have a simple basic unit that doesn’t record video. ATN THOR LT  4-8x
I have shot a couple coyotes at a little over a 100 yards. They were easily visible and after watching them for a little bit it is easy to make out that they were coyotes. I think it would work well out past that distance, I just haven’t had the opportunity to try it.

Any tricks to western wa. Coyotes that you can give a Minnesota transplant? I used mainly howls with great success there but no response at all here

Here's number 13 and 15 for me, both shot at 60 yds with 450 bushmaster, shooting a 230 gr speer gold dot HP at about 1000 fps. 

Ironically as I started typing this I heard a coyote barking outside about 500 yds away.  I decided to practice my calling so I stepped out on the porch with a diaphram call.  I made a couple bark/howls with it.  The coyote promptly went silent and my rooster started crowing......well that was a big FAIL. haha.  Good think I have an electronic call and don't have to rely on my calling ability

Are you hunting your own property or public land in the area?  I have the most success using bait piles behind my house.  I also have some driveway alarm motion sensors placed strategically around my property to let me know when something is approaching.  For bait I've had good luck with: smoked salmon crumbled and sprinkled on the ground, rotisserie chicken shredded and sprinkled on the ground, hard cat food, cans of soft cat food.

I don't know if there's public access allowed to it, but I would look into areas under the powerlines between Allyn and Mason lake.  Those powerline roads are like coyote highways.  Other networks of logging roads could be good also, but visibility is usually better under the big powerlines.

[Thermal Predator Control]

My buddy and I ended up with 7 had 2 we lost and 6 misses.   We both made a few 275-300 yards shots with our Pulsars.  Around 11pm it was like someone flipped a light switch.  We had our first quad, they came in different directions, but none less a quad and to top it off I kissed them all in.  It was really amazing to see them react to the kisses over rabbit sounds.
