I dont have a pucture of the pack out but this one was dang heavy! Rumor has it it was packed it all the way from mars! But i cant remember if it was in the right unit or with a gun or drone.

Might have even carried it in the blue bucket.  :dunno: :tung:

I have been a lurker for a long time and post when I want to but like Karl said. For whatever reason there is alot of hate for someone to come out more successful on a hunt than the other person was and I don't know what drives that... It's kind of like the drama on Facebook. So I do not get on Facebook... I have yet to kill a bull elk... It eats at me every year before the season. I live South of Spokane luckily though and grew up in Cheney so I have ample opportunity to harvest cows and I do. I love the meat! Antlers are just a souvenir that makes you grin till your lips crack!

I'm not sure on my bull. The head and the cape were very heavy, but not as heavy as the hind quarters. Which went 137 and 139  in the locker a week later.(The area we hunted was bone in quater's by regulation, so we could not bone them out in more manageable weights)

Packed in on horseback, packed out on back. Put this Gen 1 Kifaru pack to the test with an XL cot, Cabelas deluxe sleeping pad, couple non backcountry sleeping bags to go along with all the other normal things including the last load of elk. Well over 100#.  All that was left was the wall tent and wood cutting supplies.  Ranks up with one of the worst 4+ mile pack outs over and up a couple valleys and definitely ranks #1 of the stupidest.......at least my buddy packed my bow :chuckle:

Ha, the worst part was his gear pack smashed into the back of my neck. I tried several times to rearrange it, but gave up and dealt with it :chuckle:

We used photos like that in our Mountaineering training class to demonstrate how NOT to pack an overnight pack!

Kudos for making it 4 miles with that flesh eating amoeba on your back!

I totally agree. Problem was, we had a bad grizzly encounter close to camp earlier that day and neither of us wanted anything to do with making two trips with the last being in the dark. Good thing that Gen 1 had the camp chair and I had mule tape to help sandwich the outfitter xl cot and pad. Definitely had a pretty wide stance this time picking through the brush had we encountered another grizz :chuckle:
