Call and ask. At least they'll know someone who can if they can't.

They cannot sell to the public.
Those birds are earmarked for the local release sites.

I’ve got quail, and I’d sell them quick :chuckle: but I’m pretty sure my wife would kill me.

Might need a translation or explanation for that one. Not being rude. Just don't understand. I've been interested in raising quail for some time now.
thanks

Maybe I should add to my thread from a while back.
My wife and her friend bought 24 hatching eggs. 9 of them hatched. My wife got 4 and her friend got 5(she hatched them). 2 of hers ended up being roosters and 2 hens.  So bottom line she’s got 2 hens. Roosters are gone(yum).
They’re the celadon variety so blue speckled eggs that are yummy but tiny. She wants a few more hens which she’s  working on.
But that’s it. She’s got lights on them and is getting 2 eggs a day. The eggs are delicious as was the meat of the 2 roosters but they are  like a couple chicken McNuggets.

Celadon are certainly cool looking eggs, there are people all over the country working on other egg colors and such, it is unreal the variety of coturnix out now. Just a few years ago there was only a half dozen colors and just the speckled eggs. Hens are laying machines, under lights you should get an egg a day darn near everyday for quite a while. They are cheap, I swap ours out every year and now just keep odd colors for fun.

@Axle.... Coturnix quail are a true domestic quail, not flighty at all, do not do well without human care, could not make it in the wild. That said they are CHEAP egg laying machines! They are tasty birds grown by the thousands for food for people, pets, reptiles, etc. They lay year round (or very close) when kept on lights, incubation is 17 days, and they will be laying fertile eggs in 6 to 8 weeks (typical quail only lay in spring/summer, incubation is 21-25 days and fertile egg laying is 6 months min). By all means ask any question you may have feel free to PM as not to threadjack totally, but I hope that clears a bit of my comment up.

Birdguy-sent you a pm.

Axle-I’d go for it if you’re an animal person. They’re cool and the eggs are delicious. They’re super easy keeping.
