Ross Lake Fishing, Boating
« on: March 02, 2021, 09:18:25 AM »
I know the border is posing some issues right now, but looking to the future...

Has anyone put a boat in at Ross Lake and done any fishing/camping? I know you have to go through Canada to launch a boat, and I heard that the road in to the lake is 20 miles of gravel? I have always wanted to do it but never really had the time. It looks like there would be a lot of really remote, non-crowded places to camp and fish, since it seems like the access is pretty difficult and keeps a lot of people out.

If you've done this, how did you accomplish it, how difficult was it, and how long did it take you to get to the north end of the lake to launch?

How was the fishing? It looks like there are a number of boat-in campsites along the lake - are they well developed?

I'm still researching this, would like to get the family up there at some point so any info or pointers would help.

Many years back, I traveled up with a small youth group. I remember being hauled in a large truck to a boat ramp, ferry to a lodge, then we motored small boats to a remote campground. A whole week of trout fishing and throwing homemade spears at squirrels. Good times
