WTS Marlin 336 and 1895
« on: March 08, 2021, 01:11:32 PM »
I am selling two marlin rifles the first is a JM marked 336 30/30. I made a custom early style marlin ballard style stock and forearm for this rifle out of grade A walnut. I had planned on doing more to this rifle but my interest in the project has waned. It was made in 2007. JM marked marlins of similar vintage have been selling for $800 plus on gunbroker in the last 30 days. Sling will not go with the rifle; just didnt feel like taking it off for posting pictures. Restocked rifles are kind of hard to price so if this 336 suits your fancy $750 buyer pays transfer.

The second rifle is a 1895 45/70 made in 2016 so from the remington era. It cycles very nice and shoots tight. This rifle really likes 405 grain bullets. Rifle comes with the weaver scope base. I slimmed down the forearm and butt stock signifintly so they are flush with the receiver. Makes for a much slimmer feeling rifle. $850 buyer pays transfer fee.

I am located in Puyallup. I am more than happy to send more pictures. Only trades i would be interested in would be a Winchester/Miroku 1873 short rifle in .45 LC or a 4 click cimmeron 1873 .45 LC revolver with a 7.5 inch barrel. Pretty much selling these rifles off to fund SASS guns.

That 30/30 looks really nice  Curious though did something happen to the original recoil pad on the 45-70?... It looks 1/4" smaller.

No, it is an optical illusion with the shadow coming off the rifle and the hardwood floor.  The butt pad and plastic spacer are as fitted by marlin.
A better picture.
