WTS Ruger Mini-14 and 1,000 rounds of .223 / 5.56
« on: March 21, 2021, 01:19:59 PM »
Hello,
Wanting to sell my Ruger Mini-14. Bought it back in college, serial number starts with "185", great gun, just don't need it - need cash instead. It comes with threaded barrel, flash suppressor, Ultimak scout rail, vortex 45 degree rail, Houge stock, original wood stock, ATI folding stock, Blue Force gear sling, 5 magazines (two are brand new in the box) and roughly 1,000 rounds of .223 and 5.56 ammo - many different types, see photo. There's 5.56 tracer too. The Hornady varmint has a few shots fired from that one box...

I'm in Cle Elum. Name is Aaron.

Hoping to get about 2k for the entire setup. Let me know what y'all think. This is a first for me.... swore I would never sell a gun  :dunno:

How many rounds through it approximately? And also I take it the gun is in good working order? Thanks

Edit: And does this handle .556 or just .223? I've heard some of the older ones were designed for only .223 could be wrong about that though

All mini 14's except the target model are for use with 556/223 as per Ruger.

Hard to say how many rounds. It’s been years. At least a thousand? Yes, it’s in great working order.

And the other post is correct. All Ruger Mini-14s from this era take 5.56 and .223 - Ruger has it printed in the manual.

Thanks

Says .223, but again, Ruger specifically states in their factory manual that it is rated for both .223 and 5.56 - any other statement is a common misconception.
