WTB .38 Special Wadcutters
« on: April 30, 2021, 12:39:49 PM »
Still looking for .38 Special wadcutters in the Puget Sound area. Either from a private party or a shop. Or, if anyone has or knows of a source for the old 148gr lead roundnose police load, that would also work. Thank you.

Thank you for the offer, ghosthunter. I appreciate it very much, but I'm thinking a 120 mile round trip from Seattle for 20-25 shells probably isn't worth it to me. But thanks!

Cliff

Polishstunner, thank you. "This guy" is in an informal centerfire revolver shooting competition next week and I'll be using my dad's police issued S&W Model 15 revolver from the 1960's. The revolver shoots best with 148gr wadcutters and that bullet design punches perfect big round holes in paper, much easier to read scores from a distance. There's nothing special about them, they just work the best for me. I have a backup .45 ACP revolver I can use for this shoot, but I'd like to use my dad's police revolver as an homage to him.

Are you looking for the bullets or the loaded cartridges?

Mike & Polar bear, thanks for your messages. I am looking for factory loaded ammo, not components. I am in Seattle, and I'm looking for a box or two, so that would be 50 or 100 rounds. Thank you.

My dad carried a pre-15 Combat Masterpiece that was the finest revolver I've ever shot, but he switched to a Model 19 in the late 1950's. I shoot a 5 screw K-38, which I love. I was on the job briefly in the 1970's and used my dad's Model 19 until I switched to a 1911, but those old Smiths are wonderful. Thank you. I will PM you.

Yep love the old S&W痴. Also the old Colts. My Dad and I had the whole 都nake collection. I wound up being asked to carry a semi auto so I switched to a Sig P-226 for my service side arm.
