How far did he run? Where did you hit him? I have yet to kill one with mine. It's on my list of things to do.

He dropped in his tracks I have a sig scope with hellfire put the red dot right on his heart
Remington 40 grain solid cooper hollow point works great I have tried the hornady 30 grain they don't work for me junk bullet . If you ask me

We have shot a ton of them with the cci 40g jhp. Under 100 its perfect and has some amazing knock down for a little 22 round.

ive shot two with that load one head on right in the chest he ran a very short distance. Another broad side behind the shoulder and he ran a long ways. I’ve also shot a boat load of squirrels and one bobcat. I think they penetrate like there’s no tomorrow but I think they require something substantial to get them too expand
