I believed it when the Subaru dealer told us the head gasket issue was fixed after Ď07. Our 2017 had bad head gasket issues starting pretty much when the warranty ran out as well as power steering problems and AC problems. Good riddance.

The head gasket issue was fixed after 2008. Iíve had three now, two prior to 08 and had to replace both head gaskets.

I'll have to disagree with that. I know of at least a couple blown head gaskets on later model years.
Wouldnt own a Subaru myself.

My sister and I both drive early 2000s outbacks. We both had to replace our head gaskets around 200,000 miles but other than that the car is pretty bullet proof. You can take the car almost anywhere. If you're camping or riding solo its pretty nice to sleep in, but if you have a buddy with you the space fills us fast. If you need to have work done to the car you're better off doing it yourself. Subaru will charge tons of money for parts and labor. The guys at the Tacoma garage will also overfill your oil reservoir after you get you head gaskets done. You're better off going to olympia if you need Subaru to work on it. Overall it's still a really good car. You just have to watch out for the head gaskets and the cv joints.

Get ya one of these!  Bought mine used with 120,000 for 3500.00.  A steal for a xt forester turbo.  This little car is crazy fast!!!  Had it up in the hills a lot with no issues!
Head Gaskets, all things mechanical break at some point.  Donít get them hot and change oil on time everytime.

Absolutely love mine , when the Diesel isnít needed.

You might want to look out of state because they are overpriced here. Too many urbanites buy up the used ones.

I would also look at a Volvo if you want a wagon. Try an XC60.

Thanks for all your input. Going to look at one first of the week. Not excited about the tan interior, but I guess thatís what seat covers are for.
