DIY Bed liner
« on: May 14, 2021, 02:58:12 PM »
Just wanted to share my experience with Raptor bed liner.

I use and abuse my truck bed and have been neglecting spending $600 bucks to have it done professionally.

I finally decided to try a DIY product. The Raptor kit seemed like the go to. 4 bottles plus spray gun and done in about 8 hours total. I spent about 4-5 hours on prep, wash, degrease, wash, sand, wash, fill a ton of holes(previous owner had something mounted in the bed), sand, self etch primer, acetone wash....you get the idea.

I spent about an hour taping, removed the tailgate for ease of complete coverage. Sprayed the first coat medium density in about 30 minutes. Waited an hour, sprayed second coat thicker and then went over with a quick 3rd overspray coat to cover anything missed. Removed tape after 30 minutes before it hardened completely.

I've been using it for a month and its seems tough as nails. Looks just as good as my buddies line-X.

If your in the market this product is great to use.

Cool! I did the tub of my jeep with monster liner.it is a roll on product. Not as gritty but I put it on thick for sound dampening.  I'm curious to see how the grit wears for you. What was the cost?
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Kit was like $120.
 Everything else I had.
The 4 bottles I used would of done an 8' bed. My bed is 6'6 and I went pretty heavy. Also I went a little higher on the pressure as I didn't want the big clumpy texture. I have light texture, enough to hold things in place and not so much it damages stuff.

Dang that looks awesome...my son was just talking about wanting to get his truck done but was a little put off by paying 600.00!!! We will have to order up a kit and do it ourselves...Thanks for sharing!!!
