Head north young man.  We finally had to stop the other day.  When the first mate says "what the heck are we going to do with all these &*^ damned things", it's time to go home and do other things.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

I've heard of a few caught there already.  Caught a couple just north of there last week.

Well...for me the season is in the books. Not sure how many meals overall we've had or how many lbs of raw or smoked I've handed out, dropped off, or has been eaten.  But, after all is said in done I'm left with a measly 27 pounds of smoked pink.
Cold smoke??  How long and what temp?  I can figure out the rest.  Finally started keeping pinks this year.  Going to try a batch in next weekend or two.

Super simple

Brine is dry, 1 part kosher salt 3 parts brown sugar, fully cover 4 hours. Cold water rinse, let sit 1 hour. 3 to 4 hour smoke, low tem 180 ish on the dial. When pin bones pull out clean and fish is desired color remove,  cool, pull bones, vac pack.

Glad to hear you say that. I finally had an epiphany that they were way easier to pull after than before!

Little bit of a slow down today at Lighthouse. Lisa landed a 6.6 pound buck but that was the only one caught all morning. I am wondering if there's still some days left on the salt down there or if we should head to the river yet? Thoughts?

Love fishing the beach.

looking to pull some Pinks out of the Duwamish. Where does one park/ is it safe to use the 1st street ramp or is it better to run from Alki?

1st Ave ramp is way more convenient but parking is miserable around there and the odds of a break in are high. I would go from Don Armeni, more hassle to get to but safer for your vehicle!
Oh yeah, DO NOT stop at the 7/11 before the ramp. It is hiway robbery in that place! Get your ice, snacks, drinks somewhere else! I walked out of that store w/my stuff on the counter. Could not believe the prices.

Love fishing the beach.

Boats are still limiting in the salt but you'll probably have a better chance of getting in casting range of the fish off the river bank.

Thanks. Yeah that's the feeling I get too. We tried again today. Saw 2 caught. There are still jumpers. I think it's still doable, but you'll put your work in. Unless of course you show up at the right place, right time. We do love fishing the salt from the beach. But I suppose it's about time to mosey up into the river systems now. :)

Crazy number of pinks in the salt, all the way from Possession up into the river.  Easy limits if you have a boat, still should be doable from shore I would think.
