Bear Rump
« on: June 13, 2021, 03:32:43 PM »
Swapped my camera cards yesterday and hung some new ones. I was angling for this guy last fall but couldn't quite connect. Never caught sight of him but found several large scat piles. I've got a fall tag with his name on it. He slipped through the perimeter of the camera and his rump was all it got. I'm still holding on hope to pin down a cougar this fall as well.

That looks pretty squatchy.

I almost joked about whether I should post in the bigfoot thread. It definitely pulled off a slick trick avoiding the camera.

When I saw the title I thought it was going to be a recipe or a picture of a roast - and everybody knows bigfoots are brown, not black
I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies

In November U.S. manufacturing contracted for the the ninth consecutive month. Layoffs across the economy are higher than anytime since the pandemic in 2020 and I just read that the Midwest farmers will be receiving a 12B bailout due to 50 year trade relationships being destroyed. I have to admit that I was a sceptic and didn't believe in the effectiveness in tariffs but I'm a believer now.

So I pulled my cards yesterday and in mid June I have three Cubs playing on one camera and what looks to be a year or two old bear on another cam all within an area of only a few hundred yards. I never did get the sow on film but it looks like I've got as many bears as deer. All within 250 yards of my step dad's place. He's getting nervous because all the grandkids play at their place and it's heavily wooded. I've put up a camera at the corner of their place where I believe Mr. Rump is hanging out. I'll post some pictures and see if someone that knows bears can age them.
