Idaho whitetail down!
« on: November 17, 2021, 09:36:46 PM »
Got my Idaho buck today!  Saw a bigger one a few hrs before.  I watched it off and on for 2 1/2 hrs from 739ish yards as it played hide and seek with me behind trees before finally walking off.  I proceeded to a different spot as it was getting darker and we spotted this guy following a doe 574 yards across a ravine.  I layed down in the snowy road, dialed my scope in and waited for him to present a good shot.  6.5 creedmoor with 143gr eld-x dropped him where he stood, then he rolled downhill about 15 yards.  Easy 40 yard drag/tumble downhill to a road.  Going after the bigger one tomorrow to see if my buddy can seal the deal.
