This is for Elk/deer both. Leaning towards 23...........Any suggestions to make a final decision?

Well, 14 is the unit they just found CWD in two mule deer, if the implications of that mean anything to you.

14 is only open to WT for Non-Residents only (I think?), no regular deer season tags. Not sure what the impact of CWD in WT is?

Whitetail are the OG's of CWD. If CDW is in 14, its in other units as well. It didn't skip 5 units and land in 14. You are correct that 14 is a draw for mule deer.

Likely true...but I am curious whether the game farm right out of riggins played a role here.

What a bummer. Deer in 14 are already struggling, this is just an extra kick in the gonads

If anyone from Washington is still hunting in Idaho you should be aware of the new transport regs concerning game from Idaho.

" WDFW says it will ask Washington hunters who harvest deer, elk or moose anywhere in the Gem State (and Manitoba) this season to be aware of the detection and to only bring back deboned meat as well as only skulls, antlers and teeth that have had all soft tissue removed. Those restrictions are similar to measures in place regarding the importation of dead cervids from 26 other states and provinces where CWD occurs."

You got that right, spent 9 days in there and the first 5 were pretty rough finding whitetail. Had to try a whole new part of the unit and it worked out. Heard from locals they got hit with blue tongue pretty hard this past summer there also
