My only complaint is when I post pics from my iPhone, they come in sideways for some reason.
I thought I read a solution to this issue awhile ago, but damned if I can remember,  :dunno:
Image file rotation problems are usually related to embedded metadata forcing a rotation when using an image on another platform from where it was created. It can usually be fixed by stripping the "EXIF" data from the file before sending it to the new platform. You'll need an image editor to strip the metadata if your photo software doesn't have an option to save it without the data. This may be more info than you wanted, but just wanted to let you know there is a way to  fix the problem.

When on my iphone the simplest solution I have found for photos loading sideways or upside down is to take a screenshot and post the screenshot instead of the original.

I have this problem continually, and I don't post pictures from my cell phone.  Well, they were taken on my cell phone, emailed to my desktop computer, downloaded, resized, and then posted. Nearly half of them post sideways.
I tried to read what netcoyote posted about it, but I blacked out after I got to the second sentence...

...advice?
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I don't iPhone *yet*

Try pushing the button on the right side (off button)
and the volume up button on the left side simultaneously

Did it snap a shot of whatever is on your screen?

After you snap a screen shot you can crop, draw on it or edit, then upload that to HW

Still the easiest way to cell phone your way around hunt wa is through the Tapatalk app.  They fixed issues. Search function works. You can view profiles now. The best part is that it auto resizes photos for you.  No messin around with screenshots and downloads and resizing pics and all the things.
Phelps couldn’t get his elk pics to post yesterday because the files were all too big, so I had him text them to me and I posted them all in about 3 minutes through Tapatalk with zero issues once he sent me the right pic files LOL. It’s butter.
I’m using iPhone. Maybe that’s easier. I know KF has reported android issues with Tapatalk but I also wonder if they fixed those issues when they fixed all the other issues they recently fixed.

Posting Photos is an issue I hope to make easier. When we had trouble with one of our previous servers we set the forum to only accept two photos per post so that the server could handle that. After our coming software upgrade I'll experiment with increasing that number (depending on Liroy's advice). The issue with resizing, we have the forum set to only accept up to a certain size of photo files 800x600 pixels, otherwise with the extreme number of photos posted on this forum our server requirements would be crazier than they already are. Each new generation of phones keeps taking larger file sized photos, that's why your phone photos are now better than many cameras. Phones are taking photos that are several times larger file size than they used to be, thus more users are having to resize photos. My hope is that we can get photo resizing automated at some point to resolve that issue.

I think it would help to post the 800x600 pixel requirement in the attachment instructions. My biggest frustration has been meeting the listed requirements (allowed file type, 2 per post, under 15,000KB each) and still getting an error. Only recently learned that there was a pixel limit too.

Any traction on adding the pixel limit to the attachment instructions? I’m not familiar with what mods can see/edit on the back end related to that but it would certainly help with the frustrations people have with attaching photos…

That's not easily accessible, it would require our tech guy's attention. Because we are supposed to be upgrading to a newer version of the software as soon as possible, which has significant changes, I'm going to wait until after the upgrade to make any significant changes.
