I got a savage 11/111 UL in 243 might interest you. Pretty accurate (subMOA) and super light wood stock and I think itís just at or under 6 lbs.

How much are you asking for the rifle? Does it have any optics?

Thanks

I am also in the market for a .243 as both my kids are within 2 years of starting to hunt. I see lots of people here may be willing to part with theirs. How much are y'all looking at wanting to sell for?

There is a great 7mm-08 posted in the classifieds that recoils the same or less than a stock .243.  This would give your kids the ability to kill bigger game and grow with the rifle.
