Ahhh, brings a little skip to my heartbeat. I have a model 100 also, picked up a number of years ago and never did much with it. Now retired I decided to refinish the stock with just oil. Stripped the old varnish off and put some work into it. My buddy who's quite the gun guy, although not a gunsmith, more on that shortly, even said I did one hell of a job refinishing it. Yes, it looked beautiful and couldn't wait to bloody it up at deer camp last year.
Well, on a ride through the mountains checking out some new territory away from our regular hunting grounds, coming back after dark it happened. Just enough shadow from the lights that we did not see the serious rut we were about to plow into. Launched two rifle cases out of the back of the SXS. Went the next morning to make sure I was still zeroed in and to my surprise when I pulled the rifle out I had cracked the stock, both sides. I wouldn't say I was heart broken, but I sure was pissed at myself. Still haven't had a gunsmith look at it to see if possibly salvageable. I do know I can't find an original stock for them anymore.
Good luck with your sale, I love that little rifle.
