Great news.

Another quick update. Karson was kicked out of the ICU on Saturday.
. He no longer needs dialysis and I think they are pulling his feeding tube today because he is eating like a horse and it is no longer needed. His kidney and bone marrow biopsy came back clean and they are planning on discharging him by the 9th and possibly as soon as this Thursday. He is super excited to get out and be able to have a bit of normalcy. Bring on the fishing! I will be in contact with you fellas who have offered to help and see if we can work around your schedule and his appointments. He has to be extra cautious so he will have to wear gloves and a mask to prevent exposure to bacteria in the water and fish, dirt etc…
We look forward to meeting everyone. I know things may not work out with him being in the hospital longer than expected and everyone’s busy schedule but we will give it a shot. Thanks
Blake

If you guys happen to be in SW WA between now and 9/10 or after 9/22 I'll be spending a lot of time (mostly weekends) on the Columbia out of Kalama or down at Astoria/buoy 10 chasing kings and silvers and have room for 2 on my 18' boat. I have all the gear, all you need is a lunch and a license. Not currently a guide but have 22 years guiding experience.
9/10-22 I'll be chasing elk.

Thanks for the offer but I don’t think we can make it that far away right now. The wife and I have training on the do’s, dont’s and cants. That will tell us more on what he is able to do. Sounds like fishing is fine. He can’t gut them or handle them without nitrile gloves.
On a side note. He is officially getting released from the hospital tomorrow. We are super excited and nervous at the same time. Hoping to get him fishing this weekend while I am up there.
I did find out that we have to stay within 30 minutes of childrens hospital for the time being which makes this a little more challenging. I will let you guys know when that relaxes a little.
