Another....What the heck is this?
« on: May 30, 2022, 03:52:16 PM »
What do you think.  I will post the three photos as they were taken....then I will zoom in on one of them.

There is a small creek about 100 feet behind this thing and clearly a turkey in front of it.

What was the tail like? Otter since creek is close by? Looks kinda big for a mtn beaver.

Those are the only three pics.  Not sure it had much of a tail.  The creek is running right now, but goes underground as the temps go up.....It is a very small creek.

I'm thinking mountain beaver after looking up pics on the web.  It does appear to be a good size mountain beaver.  Hope to see it in person one of these days.

I'm going raven.  Looks like a beak in front.  All the mountain beavers I've encountered aren't nearly that dark.

This is clearly a wet mtn beaver 🦫 that has been well fed under the dumb yet steely eyed watch of his friend the turkey. It is no suprise to someone as astute as I. See I pay attention.  Not just the other day we had a clear example of coon/hog partnership against the band of opossums. Open your eyes people.
