Costco tires?
« on: October 28, 2022, 10:01:01 PM »
I need new tires on my Tahoe before winter but I'm not planning on owning the vehicle more than a year or so, so I don't want to go all out. I'm wanting all terrain tires, and was thinking of going through Costco and getting out the door for under a $1000. I don't have any experience w/ any of these tires, thought I'd put it up here and get thoughts.

BFGoodrich - Trail-Terrain T/A
Bridgestone - DUELER A/T RH-S
Michelin - LTX A/T2

Other recommendations for under $1000?

Thanks!

What size? Costco isn’t always the cheapest.

Should be lots of options under $1000 in that size. What else do you get at Costco? Road hazard warranty? Alignment? Customer service? Tires are super competitive.

Look on tirerack or simple tire. I’ve ordered new winter tires for three of our vehicles in past few weeks and they ship them to your door. Check around locally and see what places charge to put customer supplied tire on.

You wont get out the door with any of those in that size and LT for 1k, and I wouldnt put anything but an LT on my rigs.  Look at ebay.

I was a little over $1000 on some Wildpeaks on my pickup. At the time I thought was a good deal, probably more expensive now. Tire West in Warden, ask for Jeff.

If your sticking with a stock size you should check out some of the used tire shops. it sounds like your not keeping the ride long term and you could save a bundle. :twocents:

Depends if you want LT tires or not If you are not keeping it for more than a year and just want a a good all season tire I could beat that price by quite a bit. On the BFG $930 out the door and on the Michelins it would a little more than 1K  but if you just want a all season tire in that size It would be $757.57 for the Sailun Terramax AT 4S

Lots of places doing buy 3 tires and get the 4th for $1 right now. There’s also almost always rebates on tires too.

Wildpeaks are awesome. I ran a set on my 2017 Silverado to 104K and didnt really need to replace them at 104K, had some life left. I replaced those with another set of Wildpeaks

Running the LTX A/T2 on my wife's suburban in the same size. All I can say is WOW. So amazing. Coming over Snoqualmie in downpours and those tires handle it like a champ. They are even better in the snow. We drive her rig over our f250 in the snow just because the tires handle so well. I will definitely be running them on other rigs. Tread life has been awesome as well.

Agreed.
LTX A/T2 are my favorite AT tire but the Wildpeaks I have now are looking pretty good for having 60k on them.

I used to use the Michelin A/T2 and didn't like the fact the white letters would peel off well before the tire was done.  I switched to the M/S2 and wish I did it years earlier.  They are 10x the tire the A/T2 ever was, best road tire I have ever used.
