Green Diamond hunting advice.
« on: October 29, 2022, 11:15:49 AM »
I am looking for advice for a new hunting area. Been going to capitol forest for years with no results except for the area being super busy. I found green diamond area on their website in Shelton area. Since I never go to Shelton I am a little lost. I was looking to see where there are good access points to get onto the land. Any help would be appreciated and no not asking for any secret spot just a general overview.
Thank you.

If you would like to join the parade of vehicles with the horn honking and shooting out the windows of their trucks, almost got shot this morning as I was still hunting an oak grove, then feel free to head out Shelton matlock road and drive around. Green diamond has maps on their website so you can find their access gates.
“Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary.”

If you are not willing to die for freedom then take the word out of your vocabulary.

Far from what it used to be, no different than capitol forest if not worse anymore.

So it’s not greener on the other side so to speak. This is disappointing to hear.

The vast majority of green diamond is now permit only. Sold out in seconds again this year. Yes there are walk in areas that are ok if you get there the night before, you won't be alone. Not even on private, I own property on the edge of permit access only areas and am inundated with trespassers, daily. Just love the guys who park blocking my driveway to get/block access to "their" spot.

My advise: Go hunt, your probability of success if greater if you go. I have a buddy in McCleary that only hunts Green Dimond. Probability of someone actually getting out of their pick up is slim and if they do maybe they will bump something in to you.
There are only so many sunrises left.
