My favorite is an upgraded 10/22.  Upgraded the rigger, barrel and release and it's an absolute tack driver.  I can shoot a 5 shot group all in the same hole off the bench at 50'.  I had a group under a dime at 50 yards, some of that could be due to the ammo I was shooting.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

Marlin model 60 because I'm nostalgic  :chuckle:
Remington Nylon 66 is another good one if you can find one.

I’ve got a couple of those. My first gun from my grandpa!!
I think that was everyone's first rifle that's older than 35  :chuckle:
Mine was actually a Mossberg 151 but it was followed closely my a Marlin 60.  Still have both!

Can't go wrong with the 10/22 as stated numerous times above.  They are tried, tested, and proven.  Plus the adaptability of accessories rivals the AR-15

As others have mentioned, my choice would be either: Henry H001 (currently own), Ruger 10/22 or Savage M60 (previously owned)

Personally, I have a 10/22 and it shoots fine. My favorite was a JC Higgins Model .29, semi-auto. Accurate as all get out. I loved my bolt 103.18, too.

I have both the Henry Lever and the 10/22. I shoot the Henry more than the 10/22 but if I had to pick one it would be the 10/22. It is just so versatile and the options/upgrades are almost endless. But the Henry is butter smooth and accurate.

My son shoots his Winchester Model 94 .22LR all the time.  A nice setup.
Cut em!

I prefer Browning semi-autos.
A Buckmark rifle would be my current choice.

Remington Nylon 66 is another good one if you can find one.

Green stocked Nylon 66 was my first long-gun as a youth and still holds high sentimental value.  Great pinker.  I see em on here from time to time and believe there is brown stocked one currently FS in the classifieds.

That said the 10/22 is clearly the accessory king.

For out-of-the-box accuracy either bolt gun from Ruger American or Savage with Accutrigger is hard to beat.
