Were they non-resident shed hunters that corner crossed?

I see the money grab in full display. At the same time, shed hunting has gotten out of hand. These deer and elk have just made it thru winter. One could argue they are in the roughest shape they'll be all year and the woods are full of snowmobiles, tracked 4-wheelers chasing elk around non stop.IF this state was concerned about the welfare of our elk, I'd support limiting the harassment they are currently enduring....but we know thats not the case. Elk antlers are soon to be antient artifacts.....

You guys are so smart. The corner crossing situation has brought unwanted attention to Wyoming and it's making people who live there get tired of people who don't live their showing up to hunt, or shed hunt, the socialist government properties. Blah blah blah, "I'm a Republican until it comes time to hunt then I want socialist public hunting rights and I want the government to impose a socialist program like eminent domain to gain access to public socialist land." Blah blah blah. Prove me wrong. Wyoming doesn't want you.
These are two distinct topics. The money grab and pressuring animals in their wintering grounds. I believe a reasonable Fish and Game department would adopt policies to keep pregnant wintering ungulates from being stressed by shed hunters.

Several neighboring states are adopting regulations to better protect wintering ungulates. That is reasonable in my mind and I support those efforts - if a state pursues these restrictions as a money grab I'd not support that portion. Like most laws - enforcement may not be simple or easy, but it's better than doing nothing. Bans on selling antlers would not solve the problem IMO...still tons of people would be out trying to gather antlers during critical periods in the winter.
